Now I know the basics of sewing, but I still get hung up on things like "slip-stitch", knowing that I wanted to do something easy that wouldn't make me hate my inability to sew something difficult. Obviously I Googled "easy quilt" and something kept popping up "Rag Quilt"
I read the directions and was flabbergasted. Yeah that sounds wayyyy too hard!! So I watched a video... Ok that's not so bad. just cut them into squares and sew them together. I can do that!
So that's exactly what I did. Forget directions, I just cut them all out into 6x6 squares (that was the best option for the size of receiving blanket) OK sweet. Now to sew all the squares together... OMG that took forever... Or maybe I just don't like monotonous tasks.
I had to be careful though because I didn't want any two the same squares touching on any side. After that was all figured out I was golden.
Then snip snip the edges and volia!
After a few washes it was soft and beautiful!
And big enough for me to snuggle under too!
(ps. this is before I clipped the outside edges)
