Cheese Bread

A while back, I stole (borrowed with the intention on not returning) my mom's bread machine. Now this thing is old. It's not a relic (mostly because it wasn't used a ton) but it's got dings and dents and isn't in the most amazing shape. However I love to use it. I make ALL our bread now, we haven't bought bread in months.
Today I decided to make cheese bread. I made the dough in the machine and then tossed it in the oven. Then I could make a second loaf in the machine. I'm not sure the second one is going to work out because I mixed up the ingredients (I was too busy Skyping)
**update The second loaf, cinnamon raisin bread, did turn out lovely. It was so good to eat for breakfast! Yum!
Here it is before I put it in the oven

And Volia! Fini!
Yum Yum Yum!
The house smells amazing too!

I didn't take a picture of the raisin loaf before it was being devoured. However, this is what it looks like toasted with butter, and an egg of course.

My First Quilt

I had sooo many receiving blankets from when Aubrey was a baby, so I decided to do something with them.
Now I know the basics of sewing, but I still get hung up on things like "slip-stitch", knowing that I wanted to do something easy that wouldn't make me hate my inability to sew something difficult. Obviously I Googled "easy quilt" and something kept popping up "Rag Quilt"
I read the directions and was flabbergasted. Yeah that sounds wayyyy too hard!! So I watched a video... Ok that's not so bad. just cut them into squares and sew them together. I can do that!

So that's exactly what I did. Forget directions, I just cut them all out into 6x6 squares (that was the best option for the size of receiving blanket) OK sweet. Now to sew all the squares together... OMG that took forever... Or maybe I just don't like monotonous tasks.
I had to be careful though because I didn't want any two the same squares touching on any side. After that was all figured out I was golden.
Then snip snip the edges and volia!

After a few washes it was soft and beautiful!

And big enough for me to snuggle under too!
(ps. this is before I clipped the outside edges)

Lava Cake - first (and second) attempt!

My co-worker gave my boyfriend a cook book, so I browsed through it and decided on making some Lava Cakes! They were super easy to make. Started with some delicious chocolate, I choose Lindt.
Here is 2 and a half bars worth of chocolate!

 Melted it with butter

Added the rest of the ingredients - I forgot the vanilla...

Buttered and sugared ramekins - then filled them up!

Baked them in the oven... ooo they look so yummy!

Ok so here's where I went wrong... I over baked them, so they weren't actually gooey on the inside.
As you can see in the picture, they didn't last long regardless!
Next time they will be even better!!

***Update: I made them again with shorter time and less expensive chocolate. They were even better then the first batch I made! However, I'm still not satisfied with the results, so I will be making them again with a different recipe.

Here is what it looked like. Ooey Gooey insides! And sooo scrumptious.

Peanut Butter Cupcakes with Chocolate Icing!

I ask my daughter, Aubrey, what we should do today and she says "We should eat cupcakes!" I tell her that we don't have any cupcakes and she replies, "I know! we can make them!" Smart girl for not even 3.
So I thought about it and decided on Peanut Butter Cupcakes with Chocolate Icing. They turned out so good! Aubrey and I couldn't stop eating the batter!
